Do we need to stop any PowerPick services?
No, unless there is also a PowerPick version upgrade at the same time.
Does picking/putting need to be paused? Will VLMs still run?
Kardex machines will continue to run, but any integration sending orders/transactions will be paused. We suggest that customers with an on-premise installation of ItemPath should disable any Data Push or Data Pull integrations during an ItemPath upgrade.
Will any transactions or API calls get missed?
API calls will not function during an upgrade. Transactions/history records will still generate from PowerPick, and will be picked up by integrations once ItemPath restarts.
When will my upgrade happen?
The availability to schedule your production upgrade will depend on your installation type and your Service Level Agreement.
Cloud Hosting:
- For test environments and for customers without a Service Level Agreement (SLA), updates are applied automatically.
- For production environments of customers with an SLA, updates are never applied without notice.
On-Premise Hosting:
- If you have an on-premise installation of ItemPath, your team is responsible for performing software updates.
Are there patch notes for upgrades?
Patch notes for ItemPath versions are available on our Product Updates page. They will also be sent to you along with your upgrade confirmation, and can be accessed next to the version number in the ItemPath footer (version 3.4.6 and later).
