Why is my Web Services connection failing?
Issue:
Testing connection to Web Services returns "Web Services is not installed".
Resolution:
Check that the CEU Web Services Interface module is enabled, and a Web Client station has been set up.
If you are getting an error from Web Services saying "Web Services is not installed", this means that the CEU Web Services Interface module is properly set up in Power Pick.
There can be several reasons for this error, because there are several steps that need to be taken to set up the CEU Web Services Interface in Power Pick.
The two most common reasons for this error are these:
- The CEU Web Services Interface module is not enabled in Power Pick.
- A Web Client station has not been set up correctly.
To check that each step has been properly configured, view the guide to setting up Web Services in Power Pick here.
If you have followed the steps in the guide and are still getting this error, try these steps next:
- Change the "Web Services Enabled" to "False," save, then "True," and save. This may add the required web services parameter value to the Power Pick database.
- Make sure the Power Pick Cross Enterprise Unit Service (a Windows service) is running.
- Stop the World Wide Web Publishing Service (a Windows service that runs IIS). It might be using the default port 1353.
