When does ItemPath get updated?

To keep ItemPath up-to-date, we release updates on 7-week schedule, with patches in between as needed. For test environments and for customers without a Service Level Agreement (SLA), updates are applied automatically. For production environments of customers with an SLA, updates are never applied without notice.

Updates usually take under 2 minutes to apply, and we do our best to schedule them when ItemPath is not actively in use. Logged-in users may see a brief disruption in service, but ItemPath should automatically resume once the update is complete, with a message saying a new version is detected and to refresh the page.

When ItemPath is first installed, the support team will ask for a list of contacts to notify about updates. Once an update is applied, an email is sent which includes the following:

  • The new version number
  • A link to the release notes
  • The access code and link to your company's profile page, which includes:
    • The date of your next scheduled update
    • Past update version numbers and dates

Here's the schedule for automatic updates:

Cloud Hosting

Customers with an SLA: Test environments are updated every 7 weeks.

Customers without an SLA: Production environments are updated every 14 weeks.

On-Premise Hosting

Customers with an SLA: Test environments are updated every 14 weeks.

Customers without an SLA: Production environments are updated every 21 weeks.

For production environments of customers with an SLA, we wait to hear from you before applying updates. This ensures that you are able to test the update before it goes live, and you can schedule the update for a time that works for you within support hours.

For those who subscribe to release notes, you'll receive an email when an update is available with a list of the changes in the update, so you can see what's new and improved.
