Why do I see "Breakdown data provided in order lines is missing or excessive in order [ID] regarding the concerned material property" in Power Pick?
Issue:
When attempting to process an order line in Power Pick, you receive the error message: "Breakdown data provided in order lines is missing or excessive in order [ID] regarding the concerned material property."
Resolution:
Identify the material property and the order lines associated with the order ID. Depending on your business requirements, adjust either the material property or ensure that your order lines include all data required by the material property.
A material property can be thought of as a rule for data that must be included or excluded when identifying materials in Power Pick. This message occurs when data is either missing a required attribute or includes attributes that should be excluded according to the material property.
For example, a material property might require that all put order lines using a particular material must include a lot number and expiration date. This error message will occur in the Power Pick interface when processing a put order line created without an expiration date.
To troubleshoot this error message:
- Identify the material property related to the material on the line.
- Identify the order line(s) that triggered the error.
- Identify the source of the conflict:
- Should this material property be used? If yes, proceed to review the data on the order line. If not, follow steps in Power Pick to adjust the material property of the material.
- Is there missing data in this order line given the requirements from the material property? Is there data that must be excluded? If so, revisit the mappings in your integration (Data Pull or Data Push). If this field is mapped, you should confirm that processes in the source system correctly populate the attributes for this type of order.
For example:
When testing imported orders using Data Pull, NexGen's admin receives a message that "Breakdown data provided in order lines is missing or excessive in order [ORDER-ID] regarding the concerned material property." message for an order line to put a material using the [MAT-PROP-A] material property.
Upon further investigation, the admin discovers that the material property requires each incoming order to have a qualification. The admin sends an update to the development team responsible for the order creation process, requesting that they ensure there is an appropriate field in their ERP adding a qualification, and that this is added to the Data Pull mapping in ItemPath.
On the next test, the order lines are processed successfully in Power Pick without this error message.
